Yahya Kedir makes aDiffernce!

ALC’s aDifference Advisory Team recognized the efforts of our teammate, Yahya Kedir, as their May aDifference in Action nominee. Yahya truly embodies our mission to put the customer first and help solve issues in any way we can. He is a team player and has demonstrated time and time again a willingness to go above and beyond. He is a hard-working, dependable, knowledgeable individual and a true asset to the ALC Schools team.

1. How long have you been with ALC? What were some of your favorite moments with the company?

I began working with ALC in 2008. I have worked in many different roles over the years at ALC. In my first year, I was a service provider. I was a field coordinator for two years and now an account manager for 9 years.

Favorite moment: One of my favorite moments with ALC would be when we went to Costa Rica. I became sick, everyone came to check up on me, including the ALC management and the president. They went out of their way to find a clinic nearby and ensure my health was in good condition. I felt it was not just a reflection of who the people around me were, but also a reflection of ALC and how much they value and care about their staff.

2.What would you like to share about working with the Inside Operations team?

When I look back at when I began in Washington, I was on the Team. Seeing how much we have grown from a few trips a day, to 1200 a day, motivates me to work hard. It has made me appreciative of the hard-working team we have become, especially thanks to the leadership of Leon and Rebecca. It has helped motivate me to become a better leader for my team, by being able to share my experience.

3. If you could do any job for just one day, what would it be?

If I could do a job for one day, I would be a children’s soccer coach for a day. I am a firm believer that sports are one of those things that keep the community together, it’s fun, exciting, and competitive. Being able to train children and watch them grown and learn not just to play sports, but have good communication skills with their peers, team coordination, and leadership skills.

I would like to end by saying a very big thank you to those who took the time to nominate me. It is a privilege being able to work with you all every day and make a difference in our community by the work we do.
